The tale is a testimony. The story starts from Manguzi Hospital, place where the author fleeing Rwanda, his country in quest of safety, had eventually settled. Describing a brief history of Rwanda, the story goes on until the consolidation of the Habyarimana regime and the subsequent onslaught of the RPF army launched by the Tutsis exiled in Uganda. The aggression precipitated the country into a tragic round of murders and massacres that culminated in the gunning down of the President's plane. The fighting between the FAR army and the RPF soldiers coupled with the mass killing that followed forced many people of my area to leave. The author relates all the hardship we, people on the run, went through particularly at Kicukiro under showers of bombs and bullets. He doesn't pretend to answer the query: "Rwanda: Who's responsible for the genocide?" In his story he just wants to make a humble contribution. He wishes to make an appeal to unbiased historians to disentangle this sad and complex story of tragic madness and be the stepping stone for Truth and Justice, the only way to a real Reconciliation process among the Rwandan people. Dimensions : 112 pages comprenant texte, photographies et copies de documents. Prix : Euros 14,00.
